If you live where there is an abundance of
plants and other vegetation that can easily
catch fire, you may be vulnerable to wildfires.
Be Ready
- Have a action plan in place in case you
need to evacuate.
- Report to friends, family and church
members on how you are doing.
- Get a 72 hour kit with emergency
supplies & protect your property from
wildfires.
Stay Informed
- Local authorities may not immediately be
able to provide all the information you
need to know what do to. So, you should
watch TV, listen to the radio or check
the Internet often for official news and
instructions as they become available.
- Do not return to your home until local
authorities say it is safe. Use common
sense and exercise caution.
Protect Your Home
Keep your roof, gutters, and yard free of
flammable debris such as dried leaves, dead
branches, and garbage. Stock fire-fighting
tools such as buckets, chain saws, rakes, and
shovels in a convenient and accessible
location.
