Emergency Service Team
Member
An Emergency Service Team is made up of a
group of volunteers that are each assigned a
building to communicate branch emergency
plans, communicate rescue needs, and
perform light rescue and first aid.  They are
directed by the u
nit's leadership through the
Branch Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
and the Elders Quorum President.  Each team
has a team leader that is equipped with an
FRS radio
or HAM radio for communications
back to the U
nit's Emergency Preparedness
Coordinator.  The purpose of the teams is the
following …

  • Help determine if we are indeed having a
    disaster by communicating any
apartment damage visually seen back to
    the Unit's Emergency Preparedness
    Coordinator
  • Help determine where missing members
are, what their medical condition is and
    communicate that information back to
    the Unit's Emergency Preparedness
    Coordinator.
  • When directed by the spirit or Unit
    Emergency Preparedness Coordinator,
assist in evacuating members that are
    physically handicapped and located on
    upper floors.
