LDS Church
The following alert action plans are used in
our branch but can be adapted to any ward
or branch, family, or even a business
emergency plan.  The methods we use to
transmit the action plan is located on the
Alert Notification page. The plan lists specific
actions based on any type of emergency
common throughout the world.  To learn
more about developing your own family
emergency plan, check out the instructional
videos on the
video page.

To receive Alert Notification when one of
these plans are implemented, visit the
Alert
Registration Page to register your email and
cell phone text messenger.

The Alert Action Color Codes below are used
for ease of communication between leaders
and people so that correct information can be
passed on.  In an emergency, it’s important
not to pass on rumors, or repeat something
you’re not sure is true. If people have doubts
about what to do, they should be encouraged
to contact the leadership, home teacher,
emergency coordinator or one of the church
EST members.

Authority on who can authorize notification
and how it is transmitted can be found on this
document. (this is an example used for the
Thorneberry Branch in Pleasant Grove Utah)

may be imminent or have already occurred,
but no action plan has yet been determined.
People are encouraged, under this caution
code, to stay off their home phone and cell
phone as much as possible so that they can
be contacted when an action plan has been
determined.  When possible, people are asked
to go home and be with their families when a
code yellow is given so that they can prepare
for an action code if one is given.  Anytime
there is a
flood watch or tornado watch,
members should consider this warning a
message to be prepared for further action.
